Indian Shrimp with whole spices

Text Box: Ingredients 
3 lb jumbo shrimp
10 cloves garlic pealed and coarsely chopped
Ginger 2  pealed and coarsely chopped
2 fresh hot chilies coarsely chopped
or  (1/2 T cayenne
3 T lemon juice
1 t salt
1/8 t pepper
6 T olive oil
1 stick cinnamon
5 cardamom pods
6 cloves
10 whole peppercorns
1 bay leaf
1/4 t turmeric
 
Preparation
Devein, wash and dry shrimp
Blend garlic, ginger, chilies, lemon juice, salt and pepper to paste  
Combine spice paste and shrimp; marinate 1 hour  Heat oil in 10-12 inch skillet with bay leaf  When leaf darkens, add whole spices. 
Immediately add shrimp and marinade  
Cook until shrimp opaque; do not over cook  
Remove shrimp  
Add turmeric to skillet contents and scrape together  Add shrimp; toss.
Serve with steamed rice.
